These are some (quick) ports or freshly written "UNIX shell tools",
which can make life simpler, also in AROS shells:
basename -- return filename portion of pathname
cut -- select portions of each line of a file
dirname -- return directory portion of pathname
head -- display first few lines of files
hexdump -- ascii, decimal, hexadecimal, octal dump
od -- octal, decimal, hex, ascii dump
printf -- formatted output
strings -- find printable strings in a file
wc -- word, line, and byte or character count
