Requires about 256M RAM for working with 3M jpeg images.
Requires a photo collection with colors similar to those
seen in your source image. See the Internet for photo
collections of flowers, automobiles, birds, etc.

Photo Mosaic reproduces a source photo from a photo
collection duplicated as small tiles. When you look closely
at the image you see a collection of images. When you
stand back ten or twenty feet you see the source photo.
The program uses a wizard-style interface to move between
steps. You cannot proceed to the next step until previous
steps are completed. These steps are:

Step 1. Design Target Image
    a. Select source image
    b. Set target size

Step 2. Design Mosaic Tiles
    a. Select location of photos
    b. Set tile size

Step 3. Save Target Image

Step 4. Create Mosaic Tiles
    a. Select location for tiles storage
    b. Choose photos to exclude
    c. Create tiles

Step 5. Create Photo Mosaic
    a. Set tint level
    b. Create photo mosaic
    c. Save photo mosaic

Step 6. Overlay Photo Mosaic (optional)
    a. Set transparency level
    b. Overlay target image on photo mosaic
    c. Save overlayed image

See the guide for more detail. Included are executables for
Amiga OS3 and AROS i386.
